Main Objectives
Responsible for purchasing all materials and plant used within the function of the business
Purchasing materials, invoicing and coordinating site call offs and providing technical support to all departments
Key Responsibilities
Procurement
Send out enquiries for materials, collate and analyse quotations and place orders with suitable suppliers in line with project budgets
Ensure quality and performance of materials meet required standards
Consolidate purchases of materials to achieve maximum economic benefit
Interview and appoint new potential suppliers
Purchasing Standards
Study and analyse markets to make recommendations of possible specification changes
Encourage and develop negotiated agreements with suppliers and manufacturers
Communicate relevant information regarding changes in materials, price movements, delivery lead times and individual supply situations to other departments
Ensure company buying deals are used and established with Procurement Manager
Invoicing
Action queried invoices and resolve in line with financial deadlines
Monitor damages, theft and maintainence on invoices
General
Action and monitor site requests for addition materials
Maintain call off schedules in conjunction with site teams
Order and authorise plant hire and small tools, monitor hire durations and maintain plant trackers and plnat allocation on COINS
Chase deliveries from suppliers that are urgent or overdue
Meet representatives for product information, price queries and to discuss service problems
Organise welfare facilities in line with H&S requirements
Contribute to ongoing improvements of the department, suggest ideas and implement change as requested

CIPS Level 4 in Procurement & Supply Chain

Previous experience of Buying within housebuilding sector
Strong Microsoft package experience to complete data analysis and reports
